The Roaring Twenties

Welcome to the 2025-2026 season of The Roaring Twenties! Before you can compete with your respective region in the regular season (Round 1) or regionals (Round 2), your teams must be registered with PAAD as a competing team in the state. These steps must be completed prior to your first competition.

PAAD Preseason Coaches' Meeting - September 10, 3:30-4:00 PM

Link will be emailed to PAAD Coaches from the 2024-25 school year and any schools that have expressed an interest in PAAD competition by September 1st.

Immediately after - PAAD Fall Board Meeting

Team Registration

STEP 1: Read the Welcome Letter from PAAD. 

STEP 2: Submit the State Participation Fee of $200.00 to PAAD, with a copy of the invoice. If you need a W-9 for payment with your district, please contact Phil Cerami. (phil@pa-ad.org)

This fee pays for PAAD administrative expenses, such as stipends, USAD team registration on the online testing portal, and defraying some the cost of mandatory meetings and events such as the Summer State Directors' Meeting and the State Director's attendance at the National Finals, both of which are also subsidized by USAD.

If you are a team that has not participated since 2025, this mandatory state participation fee is waived for 3 years, and you get free materials for your first year of participation and half-priced materials for your second year. You are still required to complete the rest of the PAAD registration steps below. 

STEP 3: (Due October 31): Complete the PAAD Team Statistics Report.

STEP 4: (Begin December 1, Submit by December 5): Mark December 1st on your calendar. At that point, send the USAD Enrollment Form to your principal and registrar. This form cannot be completed prior to December 1st. Once it has been returned to you and signed by your registrar and principal, email the form to Phil Cerami (phil@pa-ad.org). 

STEP 5: If you may require one, download the PAAD Individual Fee Waiver Form. For competitions with individual fees (some regional regular season and regionals, or individual state championships), if you or a student you coach foresee individual financial hardship with participation, fill out this form and submit to the PAAD office by physical or e-mail.

PA Academic Decathlon is committed to ensuring that students have the opportunity to participate in our competitions, regardless of financial circumstances.

STEP 6: Go to your respective Regional Page to complete registration with your local region, as procedures and registration will be different for each region. If you do not know which region you are in, see the Regional Map.
