Volunteers / Judges

Thank you for considering being a judge for our Academic Decathlon competitions. Please see the appropriate region below for competition dates, times, and locations. Each competition will take you to a Google Form that you can use to sign up to volunteer.

We are recruiting essay, speech, and interview judges. The theme for this year's Academic Decathlon is "Journeys of Transformation: An Exploration of Travel and Transportation". You do NOT need to be an expert in this field to judge. These three events are testing students' general writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.

A complimentary meal will be provided for judges.

JUDGING GUIDELINES / REQUIREMENTS

• You must be a high school graduate.

• You must be able to volunteer for the entire time commitment volunteered for.

• You must be able to judge the event requested according to the PAAD / USAD competition guidelines.

• You may dress "casual Friday" on up, but maintain a professional appearance.

Courtesy of Arizona Academic Decathlon, the following videos are designed to help you become more familiar with the judging process and to familiarize yourself with the events. We will have an in-person orientation at each event.
